This machine is absolutely stunning. When I last went there I think for mere £50 you could engage the gears to get this thing started. That was a SMEE outing and we were allowed all over it. It is about the size of a small house.
I think it was installed in the 1920s. The building it is in had room for three of these. There is one at either end. When the place was upgraded they used a turbine in the space in the middle. It is so small you hardly realise it is there.
I think this machine was obsolete even when it was installed. Dont let that stop you from making a model though.

Well thank you. That would be an added attraction. Not sure when. Maybe 2016. My other half has USA pencilled in for this year. John

Hello Huib,
Yes, that is how the Phase Changer works. Simple concept, but the electronics are unreliable, at least with the converter which I have.
