The wheels on the carriage, not the chassis.
I made 20 of these, 20mm diameter,
The small cap screw bolts will be replaced with solid rivets.
The wheel axles are yet to be made and pinned. (the Philips head bolts will replaced with solid pins and washers, and held with taper pins.)
And just to remind you of the appearance I am aiming for…
I do wonder about the original colour of these 1866 cannons. The rusty iron colour has some attraction, but I would be certain that it is not original. So far I have had no luck finding out what the original colours were.

Hi John, coming along nicely by the look of the piece. As to colours, there seems to be many variants from matt black, olive green, sandstone and battleship grey, I suppose it depended on where the weapon was deployed and painted to “blend in”. Just a thought anyway, keep up the excellent work. Good photo of the complete cannon, now it makes sense of where all the parts fit in!

Hi Chris, and thanks for the info and feedback. I am intending to chemically colour the barrel, so those colour options are limited… probably black. The carriage will be painted, so could be a different colour. I am attracted to the ones which you have mentioned. Pondering….

John, looking at drawings, and artwork, over the years, I think “basic black” might have been the original colour.
