Coppering Bellerophon – 8 (the final post on this topic at least for a while.)
by John
So I spent about 12 hours spread over 3 days to make strips and apply them to the hull of my HMS Bellerophon.
Embossing the strips was very quick. Less than a minute for each 800mm long strip. Most of the time was spent attaching the strips and trimming the ends.
A few photos follow….

The nail head impressions are visible close up, but only as a vague impression of surface roughness from a normal viewing distance, which is just what I wanted.
Pretty happy with this outcome.
Last post on this process. Until I copper the rudder, and install a cover strip over the top border of the copper plates….
Lastly. I had a play around with ChatGPT today. As result of my many interactions with it,them, they, him, her, came up with this…
(SWMBO thought it was hysterical.)

Hi John, i’m still following your modelling, the cupper hull looks very nice and the statue of the amazing boatbilder is incredible. I know there is many possibilities on CHAT GTP but this is amazing. Are you gone bild that to in the futere?
