Coppering Bellerophon – 8 (the final post on this topic at least for a while.)
by John
So I spent about 12 hours spread over 3 days to make strips and apply them to the hull of my HMS Bellerophon.
Embossing the strips was very quick. Less than a minute for each 800mm long strip. Most of the time was spent attaching the strips and trimming the ends.
A few photos follow….

The nail head impressions are visible close up, but only as a vague impression of surface roughness from a normal viewing distance, which is just what I wanted.
Pretty happy with this outcome.
Last post on this process. Until I copper the rudder, and install a cover strip over the top border of the copper plates….
Lastly. I had a play around with ChatGPT today. As result of my many interactions with it,them, they, him, her, came up with this…
(SWMBO thought it was hysterical.)

Hi John, i’m still following your modelling, the cupper hull looks very nice and the statue of the amazing boatbilder is incredible. I know there is many possibilities on CHAT GTP but this is amazing. Are you gone bild that to in the futere?

I doubt that my modelling skills are quite up to the Michelangelo standard ….

The Bellerophon coppering looks fabulous: A beautifully detailed model!
Your AI sculpture proposal has a certain je ne sais quoi, that is pleasing and dynamic. Maybe you could make it yourself or a sculptor or digital 3-D studio could make it for you?!
Masts and spars next?

I don’t know why some of my posts like the Oct.2 @4:24 are showing up as anonymous. Ever since a recent forced Aple upgrade I’ve had trouble across multiple apps. Aoha, Richard

I heartily agree with SWMBO on that image of the super modeler.
Oh, and also enjoy your posts even if I don’t comment often.

I seem to have been removed from being able to like or comment on your projects. This problem has been happening across many platforms/apps since the most recent forced Apple system update. I keep appearing as Anonymous on WordPress and can’t figure out why.

It is frustrating for me too Richard. Best to sign off any comments with your name.
